Lawn Maintenance Technician

Position Overview:

Responsible for maintaining outdoor areas at properties managed by Aboriginal Housing Society of Prince George (AHSPG), ensuring they meet organizational standards and enhance tenant living environments. Expected to provide excellent customer service and maintain professional tenant relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform lawn maintenance tasks (mowing, edging, weeding, and trimming) for a neat appearance.
  2. Conduct seasonal yard clean-up (leaf removal, debris disposal, pruning) for safety and tidiness.
  3. Monitor and maintain irrigation systems for efficient water usage.
  4. Assist in planning and executing landscaping projects to enhance property aesthetics.
  5. Inspect outdoor areas for damage or safety hazards, reporting issues promptly.
  6. Perform minor outdoor repairs and maintenance tasks.
  7. Coordinate tasks with maintenance team for resource efficiency.
  8. Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies, reporting maintenance needs.
  9. Adhere to safety protocols, including chemical handling and storage.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in lawn maintenance or landscaping preferred.
  • Knowledge of lawn care techniques, equipment operation, and safety practices.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.

Additional Information:

wage: $21.00 an hour

Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.
