Aboriginal Housing Society of Prince George Announces Major Funding for New Housing Projects

The Aboriginal Housing Society of Prince George (AHSPG) is thrilled to announce significant funding for two new housing projects that will provide much-needed homes for the community. The projects are set to bring a total of 74 new units to Prince George.

The funding will support the development of two large apartment buildings to improve housing availability and quality for indigenous and underserved communities in the region.

“We are incredibly excited about these new projects,” said Julia Sundell, Executive Director of the Aboriginal Housing Society of Prince George. “This funding will allow us to continue our mission of ensuring that Indigenous Peoples of all income levels, ages and capabilities have access to safe and affordable housing that promote inclusivity and healthy living through supporting successful tenancies. These new homes will make a significant impact on the lives of many families and individuals.”

The projects will feature a mix of housing options designed to meet the diverse needs of the community, ensuring that a wide range of housing needs are addressed. The projects will incorporate elements that reflect and honor indigenous cultural heritage, fostering a sense of belonging and community.

This funding initiative highlights the ongoing commitment to addressing housing challenges and advancing reconciliation efforts through tangible, community-focused solutions. AHSPG is grateful for the support from our partners and looks forward to the positive changes these new homes will bring.
