Last week, we learned of the tragic discovery at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School, where the remains of 215 children have been found buried at the site. On behalf of the Aboriginal Housing Society of Prince George (AHSPG) board of directors and staff, we offer sincere condolences to families and communities mourning this loss of so many young lives. We offer our Prayers to the Creator for all those families that are grieving.
We acknowledge the significant impact that the trauma experienced in residential schools continues to have on generations of survivors and our families. AHSPG remains committed to working with our First Nations and Métis community during this sad time.
We will reflect on the trauma experienced by survivors, families and communities. Please take a moment to say a prayer or positive conversation for those angels that were taken too soon.
